We are an integrative and holistic psychology clinic, based in Hervey Bay Queensland.
Taking the first step toward healing can be one of the hardest parts. It is common to feel unsure, vulnerable, or even exhausted before reaching out. So if you have made it this far, we hope you stay on our page to realise that our space was created as place where you don’t have to pretend to be okay. A place where your experiences are honoured, your nervous system is supported, and healing can unfold at your own pace.
We pride ourselves on understanding you as a whole person and this means we aim to support all aspects of you, including the mind, body and spirit. This begins with exploring what may be contributing to your current situation and what has landed you here. There is no rush or pressure to share all parts of you or your story, we move with where you are most comfortable. This is why we offer a safe, down to earth and welcoming space for adults seeking meaningful change.
We recognise that healing involves more than just talking. Our approach gently integrates the mind, body and nervous system so you can feel safe enough to explore, process and reconnect with yourself. We also recognize the power of combining multiple supports or approaches to magnify the effectiveness of change and healing you are seeking in your journey. So, while we might be the first step towards your healing, we often work closely with other professionals or services in the community, as we want you to feel the best you can from the inside out.
Meet Lea.
Registered Psychologist.
Accredited EMDR Practitioner.
Somatic Body Psychotherapist.
Lea is deeply passionate about helping others to understand themselves, strengthen their sense of self, reconnect with their joy and discover practical strategies they can draw upon as they move through life’s harder moments.
Whilst Lea was traditionally trained with a background in psychology, she does not see the mind as separate to the body. You will often hear her speak about the mind-body connection, because when we are troubled by unpleasant thoughts or feelings, this is not just experienced in the mind, as the body also has its own experience alongside the mind. In recent years this led to her retraining to draw on more of a holistic approach to help you with your concerns that have brought you into a supportive space where you are seeking change.
One of Lea’s favourite quotes is ““Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed, it means the damage no longer controls our thoughts, emotions, body sensations & ultimately our lives.” Lea believes that when people step into a healing space it can be one of the most powerful and life changing things they do, especially because our health is the foundational part of us that affects many other areas of life. If we are not well within ourselves, our relationships, jobs, duties and overall functioning become much harder.
Lea never takes her role in walking alongside you lightly, as she holds deep respect and understanding for the courage it takes to step inside the door & take a seat across from a stranger.
With a professional background working across mental health settings, oncology settings, palliative care services and alongside the Australian Defence Force Lea brings extensive professional and life experience to connect with you in a real, authentic, human and grounded way.
Connecting with Lea may be the first step you take in the change you are seeking. However, because Lea wants the best for you she may also suggest that you consider expanding your support team to involve other professionals or specialties such as Naturopathy, Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Exercise Physiology, Chinese Medicine, Nutritional support, Functional Medicine, Massage & Exercise to help with your journey.
After all, when we support all parts of us, we often see more positive change, which is what we want most for you when you connect with us in our space.
Outside of helping others, Lea is a mum to young children, loves being in nature, enjoys crossfit & travelling.
