ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
MEDICARE:
We are able to provide psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care plan you may be able to access a Medicare rebate for up to 10 rebateable sessions per calendar year. A gap fee will apply and will vary depending on your referral needs.
If would like to see whether you are eligible for Medicare rebates with a referral under a Mental Health Care Plan, you will need to speak with your GP or a psychiatrist prior to making your first appointment.
Please book an extended appointment with your GP to discuss your concerns, we recommend you speak to the receptionist staff when contacting your doctor.
PRIVATE HEALTH:
If you have private health insurance you may be eligible to claim rebates, please contact your health fund provider to confirm what you are eligible to claim.
If you plan to claim your sessions through private health insurance, keep a copy of your receipt so you can claim directly through your insurance company following your session.
Please be aware you cannot use your private health insurance if you are already accessing Medicare rebates for your session.
AFTER HOURS APPOINTMENTS:
We offer a limited number of after-hours sessions to assist clients to attend appointments around other commitments.
Please be aware these sessions incur an ‘out of hours’ surcharge of $20, which is applied in addition to our standard session rates.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
We understand unexpected things happen in life & at times you will need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
We understand our service provides support to a number of people who are moving through difficult experiences or are struggling in general. However, we have a cancellation policy to support the operational components of running a business. Unfortunately it is not always possible to fill sessions at short notice, which results in lost time and lost income for your psychologist. Cancellations impact other clients waiting for sessions and your psychologist who dedicates significant time in planning and preparing for your sessions.
Please note cancellation fees may be waived on compassionate grounds, in the event of a medical emergency, a death in the family, an accident or in the event of a natural disaster.
To assist you with remembering your appointments, you will receive appointment reminders to assist with our processes & so you can prepare for your sessions.
If you cancel your appointment we require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel your appointment within the 48 hour window, 50% of the fee will be charged. If you provide less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend your session, inclusive of forgetting, the full session fee will be incurred.
