We believe that therapy is for everyone - it doesn’t matter if you are struggling with the daily demands & busyness of life, or if something major happens in your story.
Creating a place for connection, support and healing is why we exist & our mission is to help as many people as we can, so we encourage you to honour yourself & your needs by making this a space for you (and for anyone else needing a psychologist in their corner).
-
Currently we work with individuals aged 18+.
Unfortunately, we are not currently accepting referrals for child or adolescents.

If you are completely new to this or if you have found yourself in a place like this before, well the first session usually looks, feels and runs somewhat the same.
Your first session is aimed to build a comprehensive understanding of your story & what may have led you to reach out for support. We will aim to understand your family history and gather relevant background information.
We are a client led service, meaning you are able to share information about yourself, as you feel comfortable to do so. You will not be forced or hurried into speaking your story. After all it is next to impossible to summarize your life into a 50 minute block of time, so we know information organically emerges as trust develops and sessions continue.
Feeling safe & feeling like your therapist is a good fit for you is equally important. We encourage you to use your first couple of sessions to check in with yourself on how we fit with you.
-
Ongoing session planning will be discussed with you so you feel comfortable with what your future sessions involve.
Our sessions incorporate a range of different approaches or modalities that are tailored to your specific needs & goals.
-
The amount of sessions needed will vary depending on your reasons that you reached out for support.
Some people will only require a handful of sessions, but sometimes accessing therapeutic support is a marathon and not a sprint. It takes as long as it takes.
So, even if you can only access 10 sessions a year, this is 10 sessions closer to addressing your needs or goals and move you closer to a space of healing. We like to encourage people to work with what they can afford and what is available to them, as everything you do is leading you a step closer to where you want to be.
-
We offer a small number of appointments outside business hours, but these can be in high demand & are subject to availability. Please contact us to discuss your session needs in more detail.
-
We understand unexpected things happen in life & at times you will need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
To assist you with remembering your appointments, you will receive appointment reminders to assist with our processes & so you can prepare for your sessions.
If you cancel your appointment we require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you cancel your appointment within the 48 hour window, 50% of the fee will be charged. If you provide less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend your session, inclusive of forgetting, the full session fee will be incurred.
Appointment reminders are sent to you 48 hours prior to your scheduled session. You will be able to cancel at this time & reschedule your appointment to more suitable time.
We understand our service provides support to a number of people who are moving through difficult experiences or are struggling in general. However, we have a cancellation policy to support the operational components of running a business. Unfortunately it is not always possible to fill sessions at short notice, which results in lost time and lost income for your psychologist. Cancellations impact other clients waiting for sessions and your psychologist who dedicates significant time in planning and preparing for your sessions.
Please note cancellation fees may be waived on compassionate grounds, in the event of a medical emergency, a death in the family, an accident or in the event of a natural disaster.

No you do not need a referral, however this means you will cover the cost of the entire session or possibly make a claim through a private health fund.
Please note: Medicare rebates are available for our services but require a referral from your doctor.
-
We provide psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative, meaning Medicare can subsidize the cost of your appointments.
You will need to speak to your GP or a psychiatrist prior to making your first appointment. (Please book an extended appointment with your GP to discuss your concerns as you may be required to book a subsequent session if your doctor is unaware that the appointment is to complete a mental health care plan).
You will need a referral letter and mental health care plan from your GP to access Medicare rebates. Please ensure you provide your Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) to us prior to your first session. You will also need a valid Medicare card. Rebates will be processed directly into your nominated bank account with Medicare at the end of your session.
Medicare contribute $92.90 towards your session investment fee.
-
You will need to contact your private health provider to confirm their contribution towards sessions. This varies depending on your individual policy.
We will provide you with an invoice so you can process your claim immediately following your session.
